Mechanical Engineering Manager - ref.21105SB

Our client, a fast growing SME, designs and manufactures custom automated machines for various industries.
• Manage the Mechanical Engineering team in automated machinery designs;
• Conduct technical reviews and plan the engineering work for orders received;
• Create designs that satisfy contract specifications and applicable design standards while meeting project material and engineering labor budget constraints;
• Monitor and report progress toward engineering deliverables to Project Management;
• Elaborate and monitor project material budgets;
• Standardize/modularize designs for manufacturing ease while still meeting functional requirements;
• Provide engineering advice for the range cleaning systems manufactured by the company. These systems may include washing, blasting, drying, cooling, automation, material handling, gauging, inspection, and waste treatment;
• Participate in product development and R&D projects;

Team Lead Mechanical Engineering - ref.21227SB

Responsible for all mechanical engineering activities for the product engineering department. Manage his/her team for continuous improvement. Project management (25%). Coordinate the various engineering activities.
• Responsible for the mechanical design of products;
• Manage daily activities of the team (4 to 5 people), to ensure delivery of assigned tasks accurately and in the scheduled timeframe;
• Responsible for the order planning process;
• Manage the execution of engineering work on a number of contracts, from acceptance of the order to transfer to the manufacturing team;
• Coordinate, implement, review and/or approve the following: PID drawings (with the process engineering team), general assembly plans, detailed piping drawings (with the pressure vessel engineer), designs of pressurized apparatus (with the pressure vessel engineer), lists of materials,  installation and operation manuals for the customer, etc.;
• Manage your team for continuous improvement by reducing costs and delivery times for products. Collaborate with other teams as needed;
• Train and mentor team members;
• Participate in the review and approval of selection of standard components;
• Oversee the review and management of non-compliances issues applicable to the team;
• Implement product development process, change management and sustaining engineering functions.
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, member of the OIQ;
• Seven years of experience in product design and manufacture of process equipment (piping, welding, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, valves, etc.);
• Good experience in project management;
• Solidworks, (AutoCad an asset);
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing both in French and English.

Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager - ref.20900SB

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with practical experience in industrial equipment design who will be responsible for design, project management, work team management (drafters, designers), in a custom manufacturing and automation industrial environment. Work with mechanical systems such as drive systems, mechanisms, conveyors, process plumbing, steel structures as well as pneumatic, hydraulic components.
• Supervise and participate in the mechanical design, from draft concept to final design, including material selection;
• Review technical specifications and give instructions to the team assigned to the project;
• Validate and document engineering calculations to support designs;
• Approve all drawings related to assigned projects;
