Operations Manager (Labelling)

Our client, a printing and labeling facility, is seeking an operations manager.

  • Organize, direct, and control all aspects of daily production, ensuring optimal use of printing equipment and machinery to meet deadlines and high-quality standards;
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, (ex. Lean, 5S, Kaizen), to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize productivity;
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on KPIs such as yield, waste, downtime, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness);
  • Directly supervise production heads and staff, participating in hiring, training, performance evaluation, and talent development;
  • Implement and enforce robust quality control procedures and health and safety regulations. Lead timely follow-up on workplace incidents and drive safety best practices;
  • Work cross-functionally with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Sales to ensure seamless operations and strategic alignment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Operations Management, Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), Printing Technology, or a related field;
  • 5 to 10 years of leadership experience in printing or manufacturing of labels;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Proficiency with production management systems and ERP software;
  • In-depth knowledge of flexographic (a must), offset (an asset), and digital printing processes (an asset);
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Able to travel to US once a year;
  • Bilingual.
Location: South Shore (near Montreal)
Salary: $100K to $105K + fringe benefits
